This week, Ethos celebrates 19 years in business!

Milestones like this have a way of making you pause and reflect.

Looking back, I see that the biggest lessons weren’t about HR – they were about people. It’s about the relationships we build, the trust we earn, and the chances we get to help others succeed. That’s what The Magic of Human Connection® has always meant to us.

Lesson #1: Someone else’s belief in you can change your life.

Before I believed I was capable of leading my own company, some people saw something in me that I couldn’t yet see in myself. They trusted me with opportunities I hadn’t earned on paper but grew into through experience.

I’ve never forgotten that gift. One of the greatest privileges of leading Ethos has been the opportunity to do the same for others.

Lesson #2: Take care of your team.

I’ve learned that if I take care of our team, they’ll take care of our clients. And when our clients are well cared for, the business has a way of taking care of itself.

That belief has guided every decision we’ve made at Ethos. Every business is different. That’s why we always start by listening, learning what matters most, and meeting our clients where they are. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all answers. Our job is to listen, understand your needs, and offer the support that’s right for you.

Lesson #3: Integrity is never the wrong investment.

Some of the decisions I’m proudest of weren’t the easiest or the most profitable. They were simply the right thing to do. Revenue comes and goes. Reputation follows integrity.

As we celebrate 19 years, I realize this milestone isn’t about the number. It’s about the people who have been part of our journey.
